Even the simplest of intentions can exceed the wildest of expectations. The story of North London’s Wolf Alice is testament to that – a group brought together through the bedroom writing of frontwoman Ellie Rowsell and inspired by kindred spirit and guitarist Joff, drummer Joel, and Theo (bass) who brought her softly spoke, bittersweet tales from the bedroom to the limelight. After taking the North London music scene by storm with their early releases Bros and Blush, the band signed to Dirty Hit and released their 3rd EP Creature Songs. They are currently working on new music, with their much anticipated debut album set for release in early 2015.
Made Violent formed in the capital city of wasted days – Buffalo, New York – when longtime friends and collaborators Joseph White, Justin Acee, and Rob Romano reunited after several months apart. The inseparable trio’s first order of business was an escape from the gloom and doom of their hometown. “We went to a cabin for a week to write the kind of music we always wanted to.” The product of seven days of malt liquor breakfasts and far less frequent showers was “Wasted Days,” an ode to reckless youth and the song that would garner immediate attention from the likes of the blogosphere all the way up to UK heavyweight NME.
