Communion Residency: Third Tuesday of the Month
Inspired by the Communion Clubnights in the UK, The Communion Residency is a monthly, multi-genre showcase of local, national, and international emerging talent. The Communion Residency currently exists in nine U.S. markets including New York, Nashville, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Louisville, Kansas City, Twin Cities, and Rock Island. The residencies provide a platform for artist discovery and the lineups are handpicked by Communion staff, other musicians, and a team of hardcore music enthusiasts.

Each ticket buyer will receive a Communion Music Sampler that will include one free song download from all the artists playing the June Communion Residency.

Parlour Tricks has spent the last couple of years building a loyal fan base and wowing critics with their knockout three-part harmonies, lustrous melodies and chameleonic blend of pop and modern indie-rock. Lead singer and songwriter Lily Cato, bassist and synth player Brian Kesley, drummer Terry Moore and guitarist Angelo Spagnolo met in college and first played together on a whim when Cato decided to try her hand at songwriting. A few months later Cato asked Morgane Hollowell and Darah “DeeDee” Golub (also friends from college) to join when she realized that nearly every song she’d written was begging for three female voices.

The Wooden Sky’s new studio album Let’s Be Ready is a compilation of songs that mirror everything the band has become on stage and beyond. Armed with swaggering guitars, rolling drums and melodies that sweep their way toward open-armed choruses, The Wooden Sky’s newest record is at once familiar, while fans will mark a definite evolution in their sound. The band have never sounded quite as bold — or nearly as raw — as they do on Let’s Be Ready.

Howdy, We are Jared & The Mill. All of us were born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and we still call it home today. When we first got started in the summer of 2011 we just wanted to play some music with our best buds, have a few shows, and have a good time. Jared and Michael had been buddies and playing music together since they were kids, and after they met up with another childhood musical duo, Josh Morin and Larry Gast III, they realized they needed a bass player, so along came Larry’s pal Chuck Morris III. Some months later, Jared ran into Gabe Hall Rodrigues, a local accordion and keys player at a coffee shop.
