Tin Can Gin ∕ Al Scorch

with Elizabeth Ghandour & The Heighburners

Sunday, July 10, 2016

7:00 pm

Tin Can Gin was born and brewed upon the shores of Lake Superior near Duluth by childhood pals Harrison Olk and Trevor Marrin. Along with mandolinist Bryan Nelson, the trio created the trademark TCG tunes that are fan favorites to this very day. In the autumn of 2011 the group was summoned to the stage at their first gig as “Tin Can Gin”. As time passed the band added fiddle virtuoso Nori Perrine and Neil Krause on stand-up bass to round out the Tin Can Gin sound.

Bloodshot Records is thrilled to announce the signing of the Chicago bred, intrepid songwriter and lightning-fingered banjoist/guitarist Al Scorch. Scorch’s second full-length album, and label debut, will be released in the spring of 2016. If you’ve been around the Chicago music scene over the last few years, it’s likely that you’ve seen Al Scorch. While the city can be a mishmash of punk bands, free jazz, hip hop MCs, and everything in between, Scorch finds a way to traverse genres and get the crowd’s feet stomping in unison, no matter the venue or demographic breakdown.

Elizabeth Ghandour & The Heighburners are a 5 piece Americana/folk quintet from Minneapolis, MN. Fronted by Minneapolis singer-songwriter Elizabeth Ghandour, who began her musical career in theatre and pursuing opera, Elizabeth stumbled into New York’s folk music scene, her musical ambitions crystalized, and she moved back to the Twin Cities to pursue singing and writing. Joining her are local banjo player Johnny Kovarik, steel player Josh Braun, bassist Matt Palin and percussionist Jeremy Hauer.
