Impaler celebrated their 31st year of Shock Rock in 2014, releasing their 12th album, 30 Years & Rising, the previous year. Impaler is a Minnesota horror rock band from the Twin Cities. The band formed in the spring of 1983 with founding members Bill Lindsey (vocals), Michael James Torok (guitar), “Commander” Court Hawley (bass), Robert “Meaty Bob” Johnson (drums), and Mike Senn (guitar). Bill Lindsey is the sole continuing member of Impaler, keeping the band alive for more than 30 years.
“Oh, you guys are.. party rock. You like people to drink beer and have fun at your shows..”, a wasted wannabe singer declared at the end of his short but hilarious audition for the band. Thus was born The Regenerators, a Saint Paul, MN all-star cast of rock ‘n’ rollers hell bent on bringing out their brand of multi-generational shame based music.
THE GRANDE MACHINE
At the end of the last Millennium, Todd Petterson and Kevin Bigelow from Dumpster Juice were exploring new directions and outlets for their prolific output. Their efforts resulted in God Came From Space. Augmented by Slayrah from Hot Karl and Sugar Freek and Steve Post from Realm and Zebulon Pike, they refined their current sound in new and old ways. Soaring dual guitar solos, a pounding rhythm section and thoughtful and sometimes cryptic lyrics, with a cautious disdain for the redundant and cliche.
GOD CAME FROM SPACE
“Glam without the eyeliner” -Classic Rock Magazine
In 2008 a band came together consisting of four veterans of the Minnesota Rock scene to began playing bombastic, huge rock and roll. Though times change and members have come and gone, the Machine rolls on strong!! Think MC5 and The New York Dolls drinking with Kiss and Bruce Springsteen and arguing about the Dead Boys, the Ramones, and Slade.
