The Mae Simpson band is pure energy and soul. The singer-songwriter Mae, who hails from South Carolina, has a huge voice and stage presence. She has brought together a collective of seven musicians who each bring a unique flavor to this powerhouse group. Formed in the fall of 2017, Mae Simpson Band have built a broad collection of original music that refuses to fall neatly into a single genre. Blistering funk and dance music mixed with soul, blues, country, calypso, jazz, rock, and even a little hip hop — bringing the crowd to their feet every time.

In the spring of 2018 the band won the Battle of the Blues Bands at Famous Dave’s and opened the Lowertown Blues Festival. Since that time, Mae has performed on First Avenue’s main stage in a tribute to Janis Joplin and was nominated for City Pages’ Best New Band and Best Live Concert, going on to WIN City Pages Reader’s Choice award for Best New Band. The band has played the Dakota Jazz Club on a regular basis, and can be seen at a range of music festivals and venues in the region.

Faith Boblett is a singer-songwriter from northern Minnesota, and was named one of 2018’s Best New Bands by First Avenue. She began playing guitar and writing her own music at the age of thirteen. Though Faith was raised in a musical household, she has been persistent in finding her own voice through songwriting and performing. Her goal? Timeless songs.

Faith’s music falls somewhere in the realm of pop, Americana, rock, and alt country. She pulls inspiration from songwriters like Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, and Tom Petty. In November of 2018, Faith released her second full length album, Enough, which she co-produced with Knol Tate.

In addition to writing and performing her own music, Faith Boblett is also a part of the larger Minneapolis music scene. She has provided backup vocals for other local bands like Nick Costa, Fathom Lane, Deleter, American Housewife, Blue Green, Paperilo, Jackson & The Roosters, and XIII Arrows.

Kiss the Tiger is a five-piece rock ‘n’ roll outfit from Minneapolis, MN. Drawing on influences from Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, and Iggy Pop, Kiss the Tiger “does rock revivalism exceptionally well” (Michael Madden, City Pages). In February of 2017 KTT were the runner-up in Star Tribune’s ‘Are You Local?’ Best New Band competition.

Shortly after they recorded their EP, Elliot Park, which was released in November of 2017. The music video for “Starting to See You” off of Elliot Park was named one of Minnesota’s Best Music Videos of 2018 by The Current. Let Me Bleed marks Kiss the Tiger’s second full-length release.
