The Glenrustles were a great drunken rock and roll band in the late 80’s – 90’s Minneapolis music/drinking/tripping scene featuring the two heavy-footed Iron Range brothers Rich and Glen Mattson, singer/songwriter/guitarist and drumber (sic), respectively along with comedian-at-large (also from the Range) Jim Kennedy and bassist Russell Bergum, who was later replaced by Mpls’ own Greg McAloon.

Born in Minneapolis, Jim grew up exposed to all sorts of different music and always knew he’d be a musician. He started out playing drums and soon moved to learning multiple musical instruments. At age 12, Jim decided to start playing guitar, too; having felt some mastery of driving beats. He and his guitar-slinging buddies played music at parties–never with a singer, and “always sucking”–but the experience paid off.

Baby Grant Johnson is a solo musician playing mostly Blues and Ragtime material some original some traditional. Accomplished guitarist, 12-String acoustic, Bottleneck style and 6-String acoustic. Grant Johnson began performing in Minneapolis in the late 1980’s mostly in Rock and Roll bands, some of them notable. Johnson goes solo in 1996 as Baby Grant Johnson a full length album, A Lonesome Road, appears in 1997 with a number of other releases to follow.
