PORKY’S GROOVE MACHINE
Porky’s Groove Machine is the intergalactic ambassador of Wisconsin’s silliest nerd funk. Since forming in 2011 we’ve been spreading the funk across the Midwest and East Coast. Comprised of a three-piece horn section and auxiliary percussionist on top of a traditional rock rhythm section, the Groove Machine’s sophisticated musicality and not-so-sophisticated humor has been described by Julian Loida of WIUX (Bloomington, IN) as “the vibe of the B-52’s and the Flaming Lips combined with the sound of Phish, G. Love and Special Sauce, and New Orleans music.”
HENNEPIN COUNTY MILLIONAIRES CLUB
The Hennepin County Millionaires Club is a 7-piece band from Minneapolis. Drawing from a wide variety of influences, “HCMC” incorporates elements of rock and roll, country, ska, pop, reggae, New Orleans, funk, and soul. Despite having a great breadth of influence, it’s difficult to say that any of those genres would accurately describe their music. Their sound is original and unique, but remains cohesive and catchy, with a general pop sensibility. Instrumentation includes a 3-piece horn section, 2 guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, and vocals. All of which are featured prominently throughout the music.
Radiochurch is a dynamic collection of musicians based in Minneapolis. Each member of Radiochurch brings in their own unique elements of 90s R&B/hip-hop, soul, and heavy rock, and when they come together the result is a polished feel-good experience that lends itself to any music lover. Ellis Cleve (vocals) Trevor Wiest (guitar), Jack Barrett (keys), Greg Byers (bass) and Lars Johnson (drums).
